03.23.2003 Entry: "Lemony Snicket"
The other day I went to Costco and I saw a really cool set of books. I decided to buy the first one just for the quality and the illustration in the book. It’s the coolest book, it’s number one of a series called, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snicket. These books are the awesome, not only are they written well, they look really cool. The Illustrations are totally awesome, they kind of remind me of Edward Gorey’s. If you don’t know who Edward Gorey is, you probably shouldn’t ask. If you need to know just do a search on google. If anyone of is looking for a really fun book to read, which will keep you laughing, I would suggest picking up a book by Lemony Snicket. Though I'm sorry to say that the books are extremely unpleasant. They tell an unhappy tale about three unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of the book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune. Here is a link so you can check out the lemony snicket website http://www.lemonysnicket.com
